OFÍCIO do governador de Cabo Verde, Joaquim Salema de Saldanha Lobo, ao [Secretaria de Estado da Marinha e Ultramar], Martinho de Melo e Castro participando da chegada à ilha de [Santiago], no dia 24, do sargento-mor, António de Araújo Castro, quem havia enviado a Guiné em diligência sobre as tomadias feitas em Ziguichor, no rio Casamansa, das embarcações francesa e inglesa, por parte e mandado do administrador da Companhia de [Grão Pará e Maranhão], naquele distrito, Felipe Damásio de Aguiar; dá conta que envia duas informações tiradas por aquele oficial em Ziguichor e Cacheu, exposições e termos do referido caso, carta do governador de Gorée, e documentos remetidos pelo capitão-mor de Cacheu, [José Vicente Pereira]; pede, para se conseguir uma exacta averiguação daqueles acontecimentos que se nomeie um ministro por ordem régia; informa do estado e mais notícias que mandou tirar na Serra Leoa e sobre os pássaros e animais da Guiné que remete, como sendo uma pomba verde, um pelicano, rolas e papagaios também na corveta São Francisco Xavier do mestre Manuel da Silva Tomás.
