PARECER do Conselho Ultramarino sobre os concorrentes ao lugar de Físico-Mor das Ilhas de Cabo Verde, a saber: considera que o Dr. Manuel José Vilela, está nos termos de ser provido no Lugar de Físico-Mor de Cabo Verde, com preferência ao Dr. Nicolau Carvalho, o único que apareceu no Concurso de de 6 de Setembro de 1830 e ao Físico-Mor, que foi do Pará, João Venâncio Pereira; o parecer baseia-se nos bons serviços prestados e não haver quaisquer contradições políticas; não pode contudo ser provido como pede quanto à graduação e ordenado, porque a esse respeito, dignou-se S. M. legislar nas Régias Resoluções de 4 de Janeiro e de 5 de Abril de 1830, à face das quais, se deve lavrar a Mercê atribuída ao suplicante.
